Graduation Medals
Almost all learning institutions have departments that hand out graduation medals to seniors with outstanding performance in their major. The departments usually do this by taking into account the average cumulative grade score of the graduating senior during their learning years at the department. Those with above average grade points in their course work frequently get mentioned on the deans list but each department has a different standard that they use to select seniors that are to receive graduation medals during the graduation ceremony. Towards the end of school year school departments generally forward the medals plus the student name to the school division that takes charge of the graduation service.

Community service achievement medals may be awarded either by the school or outside groups who collaborate with the school in doing various community projects. However, the medals features and design vary depending on the scheme adopted by the issuing body.
